Designed and manufactured in Korea to the highest standards, the Oscar juicer is the original single gear cold press juicer. Since the introduction of the Oscar juicer in 1998, there have been a number of “me too” copies entering the market place. There are numerous factories making the single gear juicers in Korea and China; producing all sorts of single gear juicers of all sorts of quality. They look the same, but there are differences worth noting before you decide to make your purchase. Visit the dedicated brand site to compare Oscar to other single gear juicers www.oscar-living-juicer.com
The Oscar Vital Max 900 is around 15-20% more efficient in juice extraction other models and the juice is noticeably pulp free, which is the next most important quality after it being a living juicer.
With a simple change from juicing screen to mincing screen, you can make frozen fruit desserts, nut butters, organic baby foods, process pasta and noodles, enzyme rich soups and tasty dips.
The way in which a ‘living juicer’ works, in that it gently crushes all types of produce, thereby breaking open the cellulose wall and releasing the nutrients. Conventional centrifugal (fast spinning) juicers work on grating the produce at a high speed and flinging out the juice. Unfortunately, the massive amounts of air drawn into the juicer, causes oxidation which immediately begins to break down the nutrients, including most importantly the enzymes within the fruit and vegetables.

I really believe the reason I have cut down alcohol by 75% is purely due to the lack of stress the body and mental state are in since juicing. I feel more in control; minor obstacles don’t bother me anymore. I don’t even think of having a wine to take the edge of the feral hour (5pm, tired kids, homework, dinner etc etc etc). Over the past few days I have noticed another adjustment (I am very fortunate to go with what my body needs rather than let my mind control my needs – perhaps that’s just a blonde blessing!) that is I’m not eating white carbohydrates. Obviously when you are not juicing, you require energy and this is one of the bad decisions we make thinking we are fuelling our body.
I also prior to Oscar, took morning and night several vitamins which I will list another time. I have cut them back to only evenings and I’m still training 4 days a week with loads of energy. When I have completed all my vitamins in the cupboard, I will go and see another naturopath whom has never seen me before and see what the bill presents itself with. Will keep you posted on the vitamin matter; around late July I should know. I usually spend on average $280 per 60 days on natural therapies, so this would be another bonus coming your way to help others save money.
We are going to Singapore early July for a week or so and I am already thinking how can I keep up my juice needs! (And the fashion sale too) any tips on juicing in Singapore I would be grateful. (No; Oscar can’t come with me, I’ve already asked).

I wish to comment on the health benefits of juicing with the Oscar 900.
I live in in an area where the climate is dehydrating and dusty, the quality of food is of poorer quality than where I previously lived for 18 years. I am conscious of the organic food I buy, and how I prepare all foods. My vegetable juicing is very important to my lymphatic system which gets clogged.
Once a year I travel to Croatia for 2 months where I revive the body, this is a necessity for surviving the rest of the year in Perth. I breathe fresh mountain air and eat organic food. When I return to Perth I remain healthy for 1 month and then find the health problems reocurring.
Buying the Oscar 900 I thought I had nothing to lose. The information on how the Oscar holds the properties of enzymes better and doesn’t burn the life out of the fruit and vegetables was the main factor for buying the juicer. I have never regretted it since.
Within the first week of juicing my vegetables I noticed a small change, until the second week my energy level picked up, my skin was more shining and clear. My lymphatic system for the first time felt without pain. The third week I felt like I do when I travel to Croatia to the mountains. It was unbelievable the difference this juicer had made for my health and life.
My husband never drank from my old juicer, he never liked the taste. With the Oscar he now drinks every morning, and has commented that his energy level has changed; he has more, his mind is as clear by the late afternoon as was first thing in the morning and he doesn’t have any sugar cravings where before he was sluggish by the end of the day.
Since I was without my juicer for 2 weeks, I had within the first week not noticed much change to the body. It wasn’t until the second week my energy level dropped by the afternoon and my lymphatic system was feeling clogged. During the two weeks of not having the Oscar the realisation came, thank goodness I did purchase it, otherwise I would still be living with my health problems and now since the experience I am ever so grateful that the Oscar was invented.
I have my health and vitality back.
Thankyou
Kindest regards

Herewith advantages of Oscar over Green Life (have used latter since May 2002):
1. Oscar is infinitely easier to clean as pulp comes off the single gear easily after disassembling machine. The Green Life’s twin gears are a hassle to clean as pulp fills up every single groove of both gears and has to be ‘gouged’ out with cleaning tool.
2. Oscar’s screen is easier to clean compared to that of the Green Life.
3. Oscar seems to produce same if not greater yield (for green juices - haven’t juiced anything else as yet - I have two per day) compared to Green Life.
4. Oscar is very much lighter than the Green Life - a great advantage in the home and when it comes to taking your juicer on holiday.
5. Oscar is small and takes up less space in the kitchen compared to the Green Life.
6. Transparency of feeding chute of the Oscar is a major advantage compared to non-transparency of Green Life. One can see how the greens are feeding down on to the gear and how to manipulate them to facilitate juicing without having to use force (and strain one’s wrists and stomach muscles).
7. When using the Green Life, one invariably has to use downward force as the twin gear arrangement makes them less receptive to incoming greens in that the greens are effectively being ground down to minute particles the moment they enter the gears - and this instant conversion process is possible only with human help / force. The progressive action of the single Oscar gear, slowly breaking down the solids into liquid, as opposed to doing so instantly, is a brilliant idea, as long as it works well and the juicer’s parts are durable and sturdy. Time will tell on this latter point as the Oscar is more delicate than the near industrial-strength Green Life. However, for those who’ve never known a Green Life, it shouldn’t be an issue as long as they handle their Oscar with care.
8. Oscar has only five parts not counting the juicer itself, whilst Green Life has eight.
9. Oscar came with a really good length electric cord. Green Life has a very short one. Nothing worse than having to locate an electrical appliance right next to the plug point or having to be careful not to nudge it lest it prompts a disconnection. Decent cord length overcomes this.
10. Oscar is INFINITELY quieter than Green Life. This has made a major difference to our lives.
11. When cleaning, you don’t have to clean the face of the Oscar whereas you do have to clean the face of the Green Life and even then it gets harder to do so as the pulp becomes ingrained over time. The Oscar’s design in this regard is fantastic as cleaning the face of the Green Star drove me potty.
Our Green life has been packed away and we’ll now see how our Oscar performs. We have specific needs and it seems as if the Oscar is just right for us and that the Matstone or Samson wouldn’t be suitable.

Gary

The Oscar juicer deserves an Oscar!!! We immediately bought a whole sack of carrots, red beet, celery and parsley, juiced the whole weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fabulous machine, great booklet and wonderful recipes! What a difference to the Champion!

I am a cancer sufferer who has chosen to meet the problem with natural treatments rather than conventional medicine.
Part of my treatment involves extensive juicing of vegetables. When we started looking for a good juicer the competing claims of the various manufacturers were confusing. We considered only slow speed juicers.
Two of our children loaned us their machines on which to experiment. One was quite an expensive model. We did not purchase either of those brands, but a third one at reasonable cost, which promised to do the job we wanted. However, the results were disappointing, and we switched to a fourth brand. This one proved to be a reasonable juice producer, but unfortunately kept on breaking parts.
Approximately 8 months ago we again changed juicers - this time to an Oscar 900. After 8 months of constant work I can report that the Oscar 900 is the most efficient juicer we have used. The pulp that is turned out is drier than from any of the 4 other machines we have tried - meaning we get more juice from our vegetables. This is so even when compared to one brand that cost more than twice as much. The juicer head is of simple, yet strong design, and is easily cleaned.
Another benefit is that the juice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. So I now juice only once per day, which is more convenient, and saves on clean-up time.
We can recommend the Oscar 900 to anyone who needs an enzyme-saving juice processor.

I am still experiencing fabulous results from my Oscar. I have found the Norman Walker recipe for anti inflammatory just amazing for arthritis, and have noticed a distinct improvement in immune response. I caught a cold, which usually would hang around for weeks, cleared up very quickly. Still taking cortisone daily, but have been able to reduce dosage. The juicing is definitely working to help me function better than I have for years.

Since aquiring the Oscar juicer I have an abundance of energy that I never had before. At first I had a lot of fruit in my juice as my taste buds could not tolerate the green taste, my juice is now pre-dominently green veges and I enjoy the taste. I really dont know how I survived without wheatgrass and mixed juices! I am now juicing up to a litre a day and I thank the company for introducing me to the healthy way of living.

My company is the Devon Juice Company Ltd. We are making real inroads in getting into schools and teaching the children about nutrition through the medium of juice. We have a project day called Drink A Rainbow where we help 60 or so children learn about the benefits of fruit and vegetable juice by getting hands on and making the juice.
We use a number of juicers - the Oscar 900 being the best amongst them. We bought it a year ago or so and think it is fantastic.
The fact is, we are getting good press coverage of our project days and getting a lot of parents, staff and various other people asking us for recommendations for what juicers to buy.

Thanks so much to each of you for your generous feedback about the Oscar 900. This is just the information I am looking for prior to replacing my dinosaur, foam-frothing juicer. Especial thanks to Gary for the specifics you listed. Thanks for the laughs, Leslie. And, God bless you, Elwyn, as you heal.

Hi Garry,
We do not sell Juicers, just review, compare and rate them but I think you may want to check out http://www.oscar-living-juicer.com
They seem to have the Oscar juicer for sale all round the world.
Hope this helps.

Hi Garry,
The white Oscar VitalMax 900 is also known as the Omega 8003, and the chrome Oscar VitalMax as the Omega 8005 in the U.S. and Canada. Maybe it’s the same in Singapore?
Best of luck!
