Made in China, the Compact juicer is a cheap imitation of the original single gear juicer, Oscar Vital Max There are many of these imitation single gear juicers available on the market, the Compact juicer delivers an inferior juice which is cold pressed but very pulpy and the machine tends to get clogged. The internal wiring of the machine is questionable but if you’re looking for a cheap alternative, the Compact juicer is competitively priced to sell.

I bought a Compact juicer and was very disapointed with its performance. When juicing carrots, the machine kept clogging, so I had to stop all the time to clear out the pulp. The juice was very chunky with carrot and tasted like it contained sawdust. Apple juice was a disaster, with nothing but a mushy mess. My friend has an Oscar, I thought I could get as good a juicer at the cheaper price but it’s just not the case, buyer beware.

I agree, we bought a compact and found it poor quality and cheaply made, the performance was so bad we sent it back, I have to say the company we bought from offered no object, took it back straight away and sold us a better, if slightly more expensive machine. Cheap aint always good!

Hi: I have a Compact and it juices everything well. I use another single auger juicer at my boyfriends and there is no difference between the results from the two juicers. Crap veg in crap juice out is all I can say! I agree with Carlo – my juicer is superb! Why pay more!

I am thinking of buying the compact juicer, but the two negative comments concern me as it is a lot of money to pay if it does not perform well, any help from all commenters

I agree with Lucy above, what utter rubbish I’ve had my compact for close to 2 years and its top notch. I think the problem is people don’t understand the produce that single auger juicers are designed for. The fresher and more firm the produce the better the results. My Mum has a different make of Single Screw juicer and I’ve used hers when staying over and the juice is the same from hers as from mine! Mine has a lifetime warranty on the motor so whats the problem if it goes wrong it gets fixed!

2nd day of juicing and it has stopped working. I thought with it being 2010 model it would not have earlier defects I had read about and I am sadly mistaken. I now know why the motor has a lifetime guarantee. I just hope the company will take it back.

In my experience the Compact is well made and makes good juice. I think that these negative comments are not from independent users, they are from people who have a vested interest in promoting the Oscar. This type of mud-slinging does not benefit anyone in the long run.

I am always confused by reading some of these reviews. I have had my Compact for about two years also and I would never buy another type of juicer again. My compact has proven to be the best we have ever had, we use it every day and yes it will some times stop if juicing for a long time, but the company has built in a saftey cut off to prevent damage from over heating. Duncan one of the things that made me buy the Compact in the first place was that they have a 30 day no questions asked money back guarentee and it is written on the box. My wife and I love our Compact and have nothing but good things to say about it, give it a go and if you don’t like it they have the money back offer.
